Recently WELLE Group has signed a new contract with the Authorities of Xi’an City to build and operate Xi'an Food Waste Utilization (phase II) Project. Bringing sustainable solutions supportive to the local circular economy, this project will ensure the effective treatment of food waste, protecting the environment while boosting economic and social development.
With greater demand in managing food waste, Xi’an city is in urgent need to expand treatment capacity. WELLE has built the first phase of the plant in July 2017 that treats the food waste and has been operating it since December 2018. The new expansion project will increase the treatment of 200t/d which doubles the original capacity.
Based on the operation experience of Phase I project, WELLE will implement the terminal treatment process of mechanical pretreatment + anaerobic fermentation + biogas power generation + sewage treatment + deodorization. This technology will assist in reducing the solid residue, sewage, odor, and other pollutants, while fully and effectively separates the organic matter in the food waste to utilizes it as a resource, so as to realize the maximum resource recovery of the grease in the food waste.
